Prior to teaming up with the blackeyed dogs, Nathan recorded two EPs and one full-length album. The first EP, with his first band, Thrive, was titled Orpheus and had a limited pressing. There are probably a few copies of this lying around somewhere, but it is genuinely a hard one to find. Some people have claimed possession of bootlegs while Nathan was with Thrive, the most common being a Triple J live session on the Australian Music Show (Radio) and video footage of the band whilst playing the Load Festival in Adelaide.

Nathan's second recording is titled Nothingwomb and is the first under his own name. Stylistically more diverse than anything he has done before, Nothingwomb was well received by most critics, and saw a steady increase in Nathan Gaunt fans. Indian percussion, pianos, assorted guitars and drum kits recorded in asbestos garages on cassette make the EP a lot weightier than the 6 tracks would indicate. In 2000, Nathan recorded his second solo release, Circledreams, which received rave reviews.

Following the success of this release, Nathan formed a new band - the blackeyed dogs, and released the EP "Fly" in January 2001. This was followed up in 2002 by the EP "Free Your Mind". Both EP's feature a diverse range of tracks representative of the bands ability to write songs that transverse the delta plains of the blues, the late night bars of rock and roll, the rolling deserts of the Middle East, and the smoky haunts of jazz and folk music.

The current single, "Come Home" was released in July 2003, and has been co-produced by Jeremy Allom (The Clash, The Pretenders). The single is accompanied by 6 tracks recorded live at the Paddo in Mount Hawthorn, WA. Click Here to view the video clip for Come Home
